ShesConnected – a place for learning & laughs #SCCTO
Everyone knows what it is like to feel like the “New Kid on the Block” as some point in their life. For me I was the Newbie on the Blogging Block last year. I had been selected to go to the ShesConnected Conference being held in Toronto in October 2011. I was so excited, but so scared!!! I had not met a single person who was going, and had no idea what to expect. Well it turns out that I was not the only newbie, and that the blogging community is an incredible group of friendly people who are willing to teach, answer questions and share.

I can’t even begin to tell you what an amazing experience attending ShesConnected was. I was able to learn & connect with bloggers and brands alike. To develop lasting working relationships and personal friendships with many of the people there. But not only that, ShesConnected was one of the first places that felt like I was at “home” as a blogger. Not everyone understands the hours of work that goes on behind the scenes to develop each post – responding to emails, connecting on social media, writing, and editing among other things. But at ShesConnected everyone GOT it, they know the work that goes in to blogging and appreciate value it can offer.
SheConnected also helped me solidify that I was on the right path with my blogging. To create goals for myself, and know that I had the tools to achieve them. Just one of the goals I set from ShesConnected was to attend BlogHer12 which is being held in New York in August 2012. And I am GOING!
Not only was ShesConnected a great place to learn, but it was FUN. Between the parties and the networking time there were so many laughs and friendships developed. I can’t wait to see what ShesConnected has in store this year with the expanded format. I know there will be so much more to learn this year, and so much fun to be had as well! And hey, if you are the New Kid On the Blogging Block, and are worried about fitting in come find ME, I would love to meet you!

I wish I could have attended last night – sounds like you ladies had a lot of fun!
I will be the newbie this year! So nervous, but super excited!!! I won a ticket lastmigh @ the twitter party! YAY!!! Hope to meet you this year!

I haven't met any of you lovely ladies in person yet and I'm bummed I'll be in California during the conference, but I hope you all have a blast!

Some year, I'd love to attend either of these conferences! I love conferences and it would be so much fun to attend and meet a bunch of fellow bloggers.
