A Year of planning – #BlogHer12
In just a few short weeks I will be take a trip I have been dreaming about for almost a year. I will be heading to New York City for the first time ever to attend a conference – BlogHer 2012!!!!
For those of you who may not know, BlogHer is a conference for bloggers, writers, & social media mavens. This year the conference will be held in New York City on August 2-4, 2012.
As a brand new blogger last year I excitedly read the posts leading up to, during and after the conference. I followed the twitter feed with envy – I wanted to be there. I wanted to be a PART of that -the learning, the networking, making new connections. I had such an amazing time at 2 Canadian conferences last year, SCCTO and Blissdom Canada, I wanted to do it again. Feeling at home with other bloggers, who speak the same language, share the same passions and getting to meet people I talk to often online. So back in August 2011 I took a leap of faith and purchased a ticket to BlogHer12!
With being so busy at home, work, and not feeling the greatest lately courtesy of Baby #2 I have not even started to set out a schedule yet, what speakers or workshops I want to attend, what parties I would like to go to. And what about doing some sightseeing & shopping??? I am flying in a day early to make sure that I have some extra time to get to see New York City (My first trip to NYC!). However I also know that baby #2 will be setting the pace for me on this trip, so I might not be able to accomplish everything on my wish list.

I am going this year as a newbie and can't wait (and am REALLY overwhelmed too…just started planning today & realized I am already late for some stuff

Congrats on baby #2! They sure do have a way of sucking the energy out of ya especially when you have #1 to contend with it. It will be my first BlogHer as well – I'm realy looking forward to it

I hope to go next year! I have four kids and DH works nights so he really can't watch them for me. Maybe with a year planning I can get grandparents to split them up for a few days
