Pregnancy Update – 25 Weeks

Aug 7, 2012 by

Things have been so busy around here lately I haven’t really had time to chat much about Baby #2.  I am trying to battle the “second child syndrome” to make sure that I still snap a couple of pregnancy pictures and take the time to enjoy this pregnancy as much as I did with A.C.

So here is what is going on:

How far along am I? 25 weeks, over half way there!
Cravings:  I have been wanting a lot of ethnic foods this pregnancy.  First I could not get enough Thai, then moved on to Indian, and now Greek.
What’s going on with Mommy?  Still having some sudden onset nausea, usually caused by smell triggers such as trucks, smoking and other unpleasant odours.  I was kind of hoping at this point it would have got past this, but it seems like it is here for the long run.  I have also been having some insomnia, lots of fun being wide awake at 3am for no good reason.
What’s going on with baby?  Well I think this baby is going to be a dancer, over the past couple of days there has been LOTS of movement – lips, jabs, pokes, kicks – I think it is having a dance party!  JAM has been able to feel lots of movements over the last week.
How is A.C. handling things?  We haven’t really been talking him much about the new baby yet, I don’t really think he would understand what is going on.  He has notice my growing belly, and will point to it and say “belly” and even “baby” – it is amazing what small children notice without being prompted.
What are we looking forward to?  Well this last week included Baby’s first flight & Bloggy conference.  Lots of running around and touring in NYC, so I am looking forward to a week of relaxation (while still working of course) and catching up on some sleep!

    Cute photo! Best wishes…

  2. That is a cute photo! Congrats on being past the halfway mark. :) As for explaining baby in your tummy… that's a hard concept. My hubby tried putting my 2-year-old doll under his shirt and then pointing to the bump under my shirt, but she didn't get it. :)

Love your idea with the chalk writing! Such a great photo. Don't we all struggle with trying to do everything we did when we were pregnant with our first? For me, I just couldn't keep up with one already running me ragged!

  4. SERIOUSLY!!!!
That is really a cute photo! Way better and unique than all those typical side belly shots everyone does! :)
Hope the sleeping/sickly stuff clears up for you soon.

  5. Cute photo! Congrats on getting so far! You are doing awesome! The nice thing with being pregnant through the fall is that time passes more quickly with the holidays and all!

  17. Such a great photo! I feel your pain, I'm almost at 40 weeks and the insomnia has been very frustrating to say the least. I've tried everything, from pillow forts to warm milk. Let me know if you find any natural remedies!

P.S. I had nausea throughout my entire pregnancy (albeit it was a brief pregnancy). It was ALL DAY sickness and not just “morning sickness” too!

  22. I love the photo! I didn't know you could still fly, omg the flight alone would have me in the bathroom, as I was sick during my last pregnancy all the way through. You look amazing btw girlie! <3
