Sometimes Mom Deserves a Reward too! #healthyfamilies
Hard to believe there is only 1 week left of August, where did this last month go?
It seems to me that the second half of summer just disappeared and I still have a number of things on my summer “To Do” List.
One thing I was able to do was make some headway with cleaning projects in the house.
Member last month went I bared it all and showed you what my office and garage
really look like, well I am PROUD to say that I have made some headway in getting these two areas organized and cleaned up.
And when we have done a job well done, we like to celebrate in the Little Miss Kate household. As mom’s we can forget to treat ourselves for all of the work that we do to keep the house running smoothly(ish). Family always seems to come first, so taking a few moments to ourselves is so important for our mental and physical health.
Some of my favorite rewards for a job well done are:
|One of my favorite “Treats”
- Trip to Dairy Queen – Chocolate chip cookie dough blizzards are a little piece of heaven in every bite
- Nap – I LOVE my sleep, being able to grab an extra hour of sleep on a lazy Saturday afternoon = bliss
- Manicure/Pedicure – This is the newest addition to my “treat” list. For years (decades!) I bit my finger nails, an embarrassing habit I have had since childhood. Seeing A.C. watch my every move and start to mimic my good AND bad behaviours I was determined that this would not be a habit he would pick up from me. Now instead of biting my nails I treat myself to a manicure every couple of months
|Ahhh a relaxing Pedicure is a great reward for hard work
Now I know, there is always something else on the “To Do” list, even when I tackle a few projects more always seem to pop up. And then there is the regular day to day dishes, laundry, sweeping…. But sometime we just deserve a treat!
After spending a few hours (or days) cleaning, what special treats do you allow yourself to indulge in?
