Fashion meets Function with @BobaByAli Maternity Wear

I introduced you to Baby On Board Apparel (BOBA) a few months ago, but didn’t get a chance to highlight some of the design features that I love so much about this line of maternity wear.

Being pregnant can make you hot, uncomfortable and simple decisions like “what am I going to wear today” suddenly become huge issues (throw in some pregnancy hormones and you may even get tears, not that it has ever happened to me). Well BOBA maternity has come up with a solution – comfortable, functional AND fashionable maternity wear that is a great fit from the start right to the end of your pregnancy (and beyond).

I put BOBA to the test in the hot New York City heat while I was at BlogHer in August. I was very impressed! All of the clothing traveled well and didn’t get wrinkled, so no ironing at the hotel!!! The cotton blends were cool and comfortable to wear while trekking around the city under the hot summer sun.

Several of the BOBA t-shirts have this capped sleeve which allows your arms to move freely while allowing for a little more air circulation as well (read: no sweat stains).

BOBA designer Ali has a great eye for detail and added pleating and ruching in just the right places.

And don’t let the comfort of the BOBA line fool you, this collection has pieces for both relaxing at home and for the office. I have worn the Beven Tunic to the office several times now and always receive compliments. A feature I LOVE about this top is that the tie is removable, and the shirt looks great with or without it. I am not crazy about maternity clothes with ties in the back as when I am at work they drive me crazy when sitting.

Maternity clothing has come a long way baby….when I was pregnant with my first 15 years ago, there was nothing cute like this.

SO awesome! Maternity clothing has come a long way over the years. I remember when my mom was pregnant with my youngest brother, the maternity clothing was awful. Most of the dresses looked like tents! Now maternity clothing is gorgeous!
