We continued to adjust to being a family of 5, the loss of my father in law, and my return to working full time in the fall. What a year it has been for all of us and I am looking forward to all of the adventures that are coming our way in 2016. Here

We all know that taking care of our teeth is very important, but there are still many unknown dangers associated with poor oral health that extend beyond just cavities. Finding role models for girls these days can be tough. We are swamped in the media by a slew of women, and I will use that term loosely, who don't really have any talent or skill. Messages in the media teach girls to be self absorbed and petty and strive for a career for the sake of being famous. They reward drama not determination, and honestly it makes me
This time of year can be so busy! Just when we are supposed to be focusing on giving back to others, and spending time with our loved ones. Between work, Christmas concerts and shopping it can feel like there is not a free moment to spare. That is when it when it is time to work smarter not harder. Don't worry Little Miss Kate is here to help you out with some holiday hacks
I have got a flu shot every year since 2005 - I was still in graduate school at the time, but my lab and office were located in a hospital. While I HATE needles, the thought of making a patient sick by touching the same elevator button or door handle didn't seem fair. By protecting myself, I was helping to protect them too. Plus it didn't hurt that they were giving out
Living in the information age can be an amazing thing. We have access to our families, and friends, far and near day and night! We can get information any time and within seconds of things happening. But these changes mean that our kids are growing up in a very different world than we did. They have access to way more information than we did, and are exposed to
About the only thing that is getting a work out these days is my credit card! Things are very busy gearing up for Christmas - work deadlines for year end, helping out community groups give back this holiday season, and of course my own holiday preparation and shopping for my family. This all leads to very little time, and cha-chig more money heading out the door.
I would say that one of the biggest challenges a family faces when you start solids with you little one is where you are going to put them at feeding time. Highchairs can take up so much space, in a small kitchen there is just no room for a large high chair. And I think just about every parent out there has stubbed their toe on the leg of a high chair at one point
Back in October, I wrote about how I was taking up the #SCZeroWaste challenge, and challenged you to make small changes as well. This challenge was given to us by SC Johnson, a company that is deeply committed to environmentally friendly, sustainable business practices. They resell or recycle 100 percent of their e-waste and surplus IT equipment, including hardware.
Growing up who talked to you about fertility? And I am not talking about sex ed naming of body parts or the mechanics of getting a sperm and egg together. Who talked to you about factors that affect fertility, rates of infertility, and how easy (or not) it may be to start a family when you are ready to try. I think most people will answer no one. You learn about sex in
