Is your house still overflowing with chocolates and treats from Christmas like mine is? If you are looking for a Valentine’s Day treat without the sweet, check out these cute personalized Photo Valentine’s Day Cards. They are easy to make, I printed the photos at home on my HP PhotoSmart Printer and picked up the Valentine’s Day pencils at the dollar store.
Here is what you will need to create your own Photo Valentine’s Day Cards with Pencils
1 – Take a picture of your child while they are pretending to hold something. I told Monkey to pretend he was holding a sword out to the side. A cell phone photo is great for this, you don’t need a fancy camera.
2 – Transfer the photo to you computer and use an editing program to add in your text and other embellishments. If you have something like photoshop you can use that, but if you are looking for a free and easy program try picmonkey – it is my go too program for photo editing.
I added in “Happy Valentines Day” and “You’ve got the “write” stuff” on ours. You could also put your child’s name on it or personalize it anyway you would like
3 – Print out the 4×6 photo, I did this right from home on my HP PhotoSmart Printer which was fast and easy. You could also print in a lab if you needed to.
4 – Using an knife cut a slit above and below where the hand is. Start small, you can all ways make the slits bigger if needed.
5 – Thread a pencil through the 2 slits so it rests on top of the photo and looks like your child is “holding” it
This is a unique inexpensive Valentine’s Day craft idea that your kids will love to give out to friends and classmates.
