Not many people can say that they make their own Christmas crafts and Christmas treats, sometimes it can be just easier to buy them from your local supermarket and spend hundreds of dollars on expensive gifts for the festive period. As easy as that is, why not do something slightly different this year and attempt to make your family and friends homemade presents.
This can be such a lovely Christmas activity for the whole family, you also get to spend quality time together at Christmas you are creating gorgeous homemade delights for everyone.
I have created a list of some of my favourite Christmas activities which are great for the whole family:
Make your own Christmas calendars
Calendars can be made all year round, however I think it is especially nice around the Christmas season. These are wonderful presents for grandma and granddads and aren’t difficult to make. You can either include pictures that you have taken, or alternatively if you have excellent drawing skills you can draw your own pictures to upload onto your festive calendar, which I feel make them that little bit more spectacular.
This is my ultimate Christmas craft as I absolutely love to bake beautiful Christmas cakes for the whole family to enjoy. These can be made especially for immediate family to eat over the Christmas period, or act as Christmas presents for your loved ones. All it takes is a few beautiful Christmas food bags and some ribbon and you have a gorgeous homemade present in no time.
Make Christmas stockings
Instead of buying your stockings this year why not attempt to make them yourself. You can personalise them however you wish and use your creative skills to the max. Making stockings is a lovely craft for the younger children to do, and it is something which can be kept for years to be remembered.
Make a Christmas wreath
Last but not least, why not attempt to make your own Christmas wreath this year. Bought ones are gorgeous but sometimes so expensive. I have made a new tradition this year to make my own wreath and it looks fantastic…..if I do say so myself.
Have a wonderful Christmas season and don’t be afraid to be creative this year!
