Easter is my favorite family holiday. Don’t get me wrong I LOVE Christmas time, but there is just more pressure – places to be, people to visit, presents to buy. Christmas although fun can be exhausting y the time it is over and there there is the post Christmas clean up. And lets not forget you need to find places for all the new toys and clothes. But Easter is just about getting together as a family, catching up with one another and hopefully enjoying a nice spring day. No fuss or stress, just good company and my Mother’s famous Easter Egg Hunt!
I may not get a chance to talk to my cousins as often as I like (or should) but I know that at we are going to get together have a good time and still humor my Mother by taking part in the hunt of chocolate and beer. Yes you read that right, my Mom not only hides stashes of chocolate eggs, but she also hides a few cans of beer. Now why in the world would she ever do such a thing? Well before Monkey was born most of the “hunters” were over 25 years old and not so interested in hunting for chocolates, so my Mom made sure that there was something for everyone :o) The Easter Egg hunt is one of my favorite family traditions. Although my cousins and I may groan that we are too old to take part and tease that THIS YEAR is the last year for us, deep down I think we all have fun and enjoy running around like small children for a few minutes every year.
I know our Easter Egg hunt days are winding to a close, Monkey can outrun us all now and in another year or two Little Bear will be right behind him. The next generation of Easter Egg Hunters in training. But for this year even though most of us are closer to 35 than 5 we will let loose, laugh and enjoy our family Easter Egg Hunt!
