When I was child going to Canada’s Wonderland was one of our “must do” summer activities. All the families on my street would load up for a day full of fun and thrills. As teenager’s my friends would buy season’s passes and take the bus to the park and spend the day running from coaster to coaster. I was super excited that Monkey was finally to the age where we could take him and enjoy a day at the park.
If you have not been to Canada’s Wonderland, located just north of Toronto, before you are missing out! It doesn’t matter if you are a thrill seeker and want to spend your day doing loop de loops with a couple of friends or if will be spending the day in Kidzville with the family everyone will have a great time! We spent a full day at the park arriving just after opening at 10am and not leaving until after dinner time! At 3yrs old Monkey was able to go on the majority of rides in the Kidzville and Planet Snoopy areas – so that is just what we did!
From trains to helecopters, and of course his favorite the Peanuts 500 cars he had a great time on all the rides. Even Little Bear joined us on a few rides including Swan Lake. Now a full day of playing is going to work up an appetite. You can bring a picnic to enjoy in the parking area, as no outside food is allowed inside the park. Or there are several dining options inside the park from grabbing a hot dog while on the go to sitting down in the air conditioned Marketplace International Buffet. The buffet offers a great selection including roast beef, tacos, chicken, and my favourite…. a ice cream sundae bar!
One of the newest attractions at Canada’s Wonderland is the Dinosaurs Alive exhibit. These life size animatronic dinosaurs were amazing to see. Admission to this exhibit is an extra $5 per person but is well worth it if you have a dinosaur fan with you. There are over 40 life-size dinosaurs to encounter along your journey as you step into Cretaceous period. Hubs is a bit of a dinosaur buff and really enjoying teaching Monkey about all of the different species we saw.
Now for the best part of all… would you like to take YOUR family to Canada’s Wonderland for the day???
