Just after Hubs and I got married and moved into our house we completely renovated our kitchen. From top to bottom new floors, cabinets, counters and light fixtures. Although it is not huge, it is beautiful and just the way we want it. Which is why drives Hubs CRAZY when I do this:
Do you see it??? The pile of recycling sitting on the counter. Yup, it drive Hubs nuts. Why??? Because the recycling does not belong on our counter, it is just a few short feet away from its true home in the Blue Box. But why oh why can’t it get there? I don’t really have a good answer for that, but I do have a few crappy excuses. The counter is a convenient spot to pile up the recycling when cooking or opening mail. Plus in the winter it is cold outside, and I have a hard enough time staying warm without standing by a cold door, if even for a few seconds. Those are my excuses and I am sticking to them!
Well Rubbermaid knows that there are people like me out there, that just can’t seem to get the recycling out to the Blue Box right away and have designed something to help us keep our spouses happy… the Hidden Recycler!
Rubbermaid’s Hidden Recycler features:
- Hinged lid attaches to cabinet door with over the door hooks or screws
- Bag is made from 65% post-consumer resin
- Bag is machine washable
- Comfortable handle for transport
- 5 gallon bag holds 36 uncrushed cans and is large enough to fit 1 gallon milk jugs
This is what we needed all along! Something that I can put the recycling in that is directly in my kitchen! Thank god for small compromises that make for a happier marriage. Now we can have our nice looking counters back and I can have a convenient place to store the recyclables.
Are you like me and need a little help with your kitchen organization and getting your recyclables to the right place???
