We all know how important it is to get out and active with our kids. Children are spending more and more time in a sitting sedentary state. Between sitting in school for classes, sitting at home to do homework, and of course the ever increasing “screen time” of being in front of a computer or tablet. It is easy to forget that kids need 60 minutes of physical activity every day. Looking for a creative way to help get your kids motivated and active, why not have some fun with the Target Tri-Fun Kids Triathlon.
The Tri-Fun Events are the perfect way to get kids excited about an activity that is usually reserved for adults. In a fun supportive family environment children will be able to take part in all elements of a regular triathlon – swimming, biking and running – at distances customized to reflex their abilities at their age.
There are 5 Tri-Fun events taking place across the GTA (Vaughan, Mississauga, Milton, Oakville and Guelph) between June 22 and August 24. So find one near you and register your kids for a day full of family fun. Children from ages 3-13 are encouraged to participate, and all registered athletes will receive a t-shirt, medals, snacks and more. Plus the fun does not stop at the finish line – kids can enjoy play time in the Fun Zone after the race.
