When I think back to fun memories from my childhood, many of them are from around Halloween! Halloween was a family affair at our house – with decorations around the house, planning out costumes (yes my mom would dress up to take us trick or treating!) and of course carving of the pumpkin! There was a house on my street growing up that would transform their garage into a haunted house. I remember anxiously waiting each year for the first signs of the transformation, are they going to do it again this year?!?
I was so excited when I finally had my own house to decorate! We are the family that has the blow up pumpkins on our front lawn, and strobe lights going on Halloween night (and yes, this all started long before we ever had kids!). Oh and handing out candy and seeing all of the kids is costumes, is so much fun.

Oh yes I was one “Peachy Kid” back in the 80’s in the handmade costume that my Grandma made me – and yes my mom STILL has it in her basement!
You must forgive the photo quality here, this was waaaaaaay before digital cameras! Who remembers going trick or treating with Unicef boxes? And nothing screams 80’s Halloween like dressing up like a Popple! (You do remember Popples right?!?)
What are your favorite memories of Halloween as a child???
