It’s time for the BabyTime Show!! This April 22-24th get ready for the Toronto BabyTime Show being held at the International Centre in Mississauga. I always look forward to attending the BabyTime Show because there’s nothing I like more than a room filled with new products and information, especially when it’s about my favourite thing…my family. This year the baby show is back better than ever with new seminars, talks, show specials and more. While Kate’s kids are show veterans, I will be taking both of my girls for the first time and it’s exciting. I’m always looking for more tips, trends and help with everything from bum cream to toddler melt downs! The show will include a number of different seminars and talks to help you navigate those first days of parenthood up to tackling picky preschooler eating habits. From breastfeeding to sleep shaping the BabyTime Show has it all, here are 6 seminars not to miss:
Topic: Breast Milk Feeding 101 – Speaker: Mourad Sadji, MD, Medela Canada
If you are considering breast feeding or feeding expressed breast milk to your baby, you should definitely pencil this seminar in. Dr. Mourad Sadji will explain the different breast pumps on the market to help you decide which one will be best for you, because let’s face it – double, single, manual, automatic…there are a lot to choose from! He will also discuss ways to feed your baby expressed milk, and the rules for storing it. Dr. Mourad Sadji will speak about the value of breast milk and highlight facts that might surprise you, like what makes breast milk so special? This seminar will be great for everyone interested in breastfeeding, bottle feeding or both!
Topic: Breast Feeding 101 – Presented by: The La Leche League of Canada
When I was pregnant for the first time I believed that breastfeeding would come naturally, wow was I wrong! I soon found out that breastfeeding is not that easy for everyone or every baby. Sometimes there are some learning curves to overcome, and this seminar by La Leche League of Canada will help. La Leche League is a volunteer-run organization that provides breastfeeding support by mothers to mothers. Whether you are currently breastfeeding or pregnant and thinking about breastfeeding this seminar is for you. There will be information on how to overcome the challenges and difficulties that breastfeeding can present.
Topic: Pregnancy, Birth and Postpartum – UNCENSORED!! – Speaker: Kristi Clements, RMT Doula
Hear some down to earth, real answers to some of your most pressing questions. This seminar is one you don’t want to miss. Kristi Clements who is a Registered Massage Therapy (RMT) Doula, speaks about the unspeakable in a way that will make you feel more confident and comfortable. She will cover everything from breastfeeding (it may not come as naturally as you think) to pelvic pain and everything in between! Bring your questions as there will be an open question and answer period and don’t be afraid to ask because Kristi has heard it all!
Topic: Tips & Tricks from a Mom of Six – Speaker: Julie Cole, Co-Founder Mabel’s Labels
Entrepreneur, blogger and mom of six, Julie Cole appears like she can do it all – and she can! Come and hear her tips and tricks on how to find a successful work/life balance. Julie has a lot of experience in the spotlight and will have you laughing out loud at some of the challenges we face trying to obtain stability in our daily lives. As a busy mom myself I am looking forward to seeing Julie speak again as she tells it how it is, giving you the honest truth about motherhood and how to survive our hectic lives!

Topic: Gentle Sleep Shaping for Your Baby – Presented by: Helping Hands Doula
We all know that once you bring your newborn home you will be missing some shut eye. Sleep may even sound like a dream now you have that new baby to care for, but maybe it doesn’t have to be. In this seminar Helping Hands Doula will give you sleep shaping techniques that will help both you and your baby sleep better. Learn how to gently coach your little one to sleep in those first 6 months while promoting good sleep habits for the future. Helping Hands Doula will speak about a different methods to help you and your baby find the sleep you need, in the gentlest of ways.
