As moms we are BUSY. Between working, cleaning, cooking, taking care of the kids, running to sporting events and other extracurricular activities it is hard to take time to just slow down. Enjoy some quality time with friends & family. I had the opportunity before Christmas to do some Christmas baking courtesy of Kraft Canada. The provided the ingredients to make some of the tastiest desserts I have ever had and I got to spend an amazing day baking with my Mom, Sister and a great family friend (And on top of that all of the fun was captured by the amazing photographer Teddy Chau).
Our annual baking day serves a dual purpose for me. Not only do I get to spend some much needed time visiting and enjoying great company, but I am also making gifts. That’s right the baking is just not for my personal consumption (although my scale will tell you I did eat more than my fair share over the holidays), whenever we visit people over the holidays I always bring a box or a tray of goodies as a hostess gift. Baking gifts is a great personal way to show someone you care and give them a special treat to savour. This year we make some great recipes including the ever coveted Peanut Butter Balls which always seem to be the first to disappear when I put out a tray of goodies. All of the recipes that we made were easy to scale up (we made triple batches of everything) and stored well in the fridge.
I will be sharing the recipes and more photos over the month of January of the baking that we made. Next time you are stuck for a gift idea, why not make a baking gift? Get the kids or girlfriends together, enjoy making some memories while also making a great present for someone special. Memories like these….
