With 3 kids, a busy hubby, and going back to work, I am finding time in the mornings more limited than before. Everyone needs to get dressed, lunches in hand, bags packed, and breakfast eaten while still getting where we need to go on time. Right now in the mornings I get all the kids seated and fed, but rarely ever sit down myself as I am busy gathering things, or putting away dishes. It can be tricky to remember to feed myself, and if I am not carefully prepared ahead of time, I might get stuck grabbing something quick and not very good for me.
My best tip for getting healthy food into Mom in the morning is to kick your day off right by making up a smoothie. It helps you to get your protein, calcium and fruit servings all while still getting everything done you need to. I know there are some mornings where even a smoothie seems like a daunting challenge to whip up because time is so limited. That’s when I pull out the ingredients I already have in the freezer. Just chop and freeze all the ingredients in individual containers ahead of time, the weekend or grocery day is usually a great time to do this. On those super rushed mornings, you just get them out, toss them in the blender, add some So Good, blend and enjoy! Voila!
