Anyone who knows my Step-Dad knows he has been counting down to retirement from the time he started working. Even as a kid I remember him being about to tell you how many more years of work he had left, even if that number was well over 20 years, before he was eligible for retirement. He is a work hard play hard kind of guy. Although he is a very talent mechanic and enjoyed his job, he was looking forward to getting rid of his commute, shift work and being able to spend more time on projects around the house. Well this August finally marked the day he had been counting down to for 35 years… he retired! Of course a celebration was in order so we took the family to the Mandarin Restaurant.
When is the last time you dove into the delicious buffet at the Mandarin? It was such a treat to walk into a restaurant that literally has something for everyone. As a group of 8, that ranged in age from a Great-Grandma to Little Bear who is 10 months old, we were all able to find items at the buffet that had us going back for more. The Mandarin Restaurant was more than accommodating of our group that included 2 small children and the servers were excited to hear what were there to celebrate. They even let us do a little decorating ourselves with some balloons to mark the special occasion. Plus we were not the only ones celebrating a special occasion, there were no less than 5 birthdays being celebrated in the room where we were seated in. We quickly realized the Mandarin Restaurant is popular destination for celebrations big and small.
So lets talk about the food – the Mandarin Restaurant offers a full buffet for one very reasonable price. And what do you get at the buffet… a huge Salad bar, soups, fine selection of breads, sushi, many different Chinese food dishes, fish, chicken, pizza, prime rib, a dessert bar that will have you drooling for weeks and of course we can’t forget the Frozen Yogurt and Ice Cream Sundae Bar! Plus so much more, I was stuffed and there was still things that I wanted to try.
Not to make you too hungry, but here is just a small taste of what the Mandarin Restaurants have to offer.
Although I would highly recommend the Mandarin Restaurant dining experience complete with beautiful decor, impressive fish tanks and friendly staff, if you can’t make it into the restaurant the Mandarin offers a full take out menu so you can enjoy their delicious food in the comfort of your own home.
So the next time you are going out to celebrate a birthday, retirement, anniversary or any special occasion at all, head to the Mandarin Restaurant for a family dinner that that is sure to please everyone.
