I remember when Hubs and I were dating, we could pick up and go out for dinner on a whim. These days things are a little different. It takes 45 minutes just to get out the door! Between diaper changes/potty breaks, packing the diaper bag, and getting dressed for the winter weather sometimes I feel like I have run a marathon before I even get to the car. Although our life might be a little different from when we first got married it was not going to stop us from getting out and celebrating our 6th wedding anniversary even if we had 2 kids in tow. We decided this year to head to Jack Astor’s Bar & Grill. Dining out as a family is getting more expensive, so the coupon we got in the mail for $10 off your meal at Jack Astor’s came at a perfect time.
And we were not disappointed, the food at Jack Astor’s was DELICIOUS! I am an appetizer and dessert kind of girl, and the selection for both was extensive. We started off with warm gooey cheese garlic bread which was fantastic. We had to cut Monkey off from eating it all to make sure that Hubs and I got some.
As a general rule when picking a main dish I select something that will still taste great if I take home and reheat it. That way I still have room for dessert, and a yummy lunch for the next day. I decided on the Chicken Quesadilla, and Hubs got a classic, Fish & Chips. I loved that the Kids menu had 8 different options, and each meal came with a drink and dessert. Monkey decided he wanted pizza for dinner that night.
We had an enjoyable dinner, Monkey was very well behaved and Little Bear slept the whole time. However it would not be a dinner out without dessert. I had a hard time deciding between the awesome selection, but finally settled on the Peanut Butter Chocolate Cookie Sundae. And yes, it was just as amazing as it sounds, and I ate every last bite! You can see more pictures of our anniversary adventure in our google plus album.
I was even more impressed once the bill came, our total was only $50 for dinner (appetizer, dessert, kids meal, 2 entrees, and drink for hubby and I) with the $10 off coupon! Hubs and I really enjoyed your dinner out, and although things are different than 6 years ago we would not change a thing. Jack Astor’s has over 35 locations and can be found on Facebook and twitter. Where do you like to go out to eat with your family?
