When is the last time you were able to get away for a date night? I know how hard it can be between the kids, work and other commitments. By the time you get home at the end of the day the thought of going back out again is not very attractive. Well let me tell you ladies, this time it is worth it! Find a babysitter, grab your partner and head out to the movies to see Thor: The Dark World this weekend. This film offers something for everyone – battle scenes that pleased the Hubs, a story line that I enjoyed, and lots of humor that had both of us laughing all movie long.
I was happy to see Jane (Natalie Portman) in the spot light after what I felt was a huge oversight in the Avengers movie, with her barely getting a mention. The charisma and between Jane and Thor (Chris Hemsworth) was as strong as ever and Portman rose to the challenge of a more central role in the movie. As much as I loved the “love story” aspect of the movie the true highlight was the dynamic and often hilarious interactions between Thor and his brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston). The relationship between the brothers is fun to watch and very relatable with all of the jokes and barbs at the others expense and the underlying rivalry that is always simmering just below the surface.
Thor: The Dark World is one worth getting out to see in theaters, there is even a little Hemsworth eye candy thrown in there too! And true Marvel fans will not need a reminder, but make sure you stay for the whole movie, credits and all as you don’t want to miss any of this movie. If you haven’t seen Thor: The Dark Work yet, plan a date night with your partner and go and see it this weekend!
