Having more than one kid is a tricky balancing act. One needs to be fed while the other wants to play cars. One wants to snuggle up on the couch while the other wants you to run around playing super heros. Forget finding time to try make dinner or do any cleaning. “Mommy come do this” “Mommy wanna play?” And the one I hear most often: “Mommy come read me this book!”. It is great that the boys love books, I enjoy reading with them on a daily basis. However I can’t be there all the time reading with them. That is where my pal Read With Me Scout comes in!
Read With Me Scout allows Monkey to enjoy having a story read to him when I can’t be the one doing the reading. This interactive story time lets Monkey not only have fun listening to a story with Scout, but also answer questions via 5 interactive touchpoints on Scouts body such as patting his back or head, or touching his paw.
Even Little Bear who is too young to play with Scout in the intended manner enjoys playing with him as a toy and likes flipping through the board books to look at the pictures. I only wish there were more story books available for Scout as I would like to increase our collection to give us more variety.
As happy as I am to sit down and read books with my boys there are times when Mommy needs 5 minutes to get some things done, or heck just go to the bathroom! I am happy to be able to suggest that Monkey grabs a book and sits down with Scout to read and that I will come join in on the story as soon as I can. You can find more information about Scout and his friend Violet on the LeapFrog website. Find a few moments of peace while the kids are reading away with Read With Me Scout.
