Well we are over half way through the LEGO® DUPLO® 30 Days of Play Challenge and I can’t believe how much fun we have been having. As a working mom the time I get to spend with Monkey in the evenings is precious. I want to make the most of the few hours we do get to spend together, but coming up with creative ways for us to play together is sometimes tough for me. The 30 Days of Play Challenge has been a great stepping stone for hours of play. One small challenge has lead into hours of fun, for example we made cupcakes for the birthday cake challenge which developed into a fun night of making all sorts of LEGO® DUPLO® meals to eat.
Monkey has had such an amazing time playing with the LEGO® DUPLO® over the last 20 days. It is impressive to see how many skills he has developed over that short period of time. When we first started the LEGO® DUPLO® challenge putting bricks together involved lots of smashing them together in hopes of getting the right fit, and sometimes ended up in crying out in frustration. Now, after a few weeks of practice, he can pick up bricks, line them up and build all sorts of towers and creations.
Doing the daily LEGO® DUPLO® challenges has been a great way to re-connect with A.C. after being away at work all day. And Daddy has joined in on the action too, I am not sure who has more fun Hubs or Monkey!
Have you been joining in the LEGO® DUPLO® fun? Check out the Today’s Parent 30 Days of Play Calendar for some great inspiration and enter you own play challenge for a chance to win a trip for 4 to the Legoland park. Don’t forget to comment on/like/tweet the daily challenges in support of the Make a Wish foundation – lets help them reach their goal of an $8,000 donation! I am looking forward to seeing the rest of the challenges, especially the parent contributions, and hope you will play along.
