When is the last time you were surprised out of the blue with a kind gesture? Big or small, just something unexpected that made your day? For me it was just over a week and a half ago, a coworker and I had been talking about home cooking. She is Indian and always has the most delicious smelling lunches. We discussed the differences in typical home cooked meals at our houses where as I make a lot of pastas, she makes curries. Few days after our chat she came to work with a couple of containers filled with a delicious bean curry and handmade chapati for me to take home. She had no idea Hubs was going to be away that night and I was stressing about what I was going to make for dinner. This small act made my day, lifted my spirits and made my evening at home with the boys so much easier. It is small acts like these that don’t take a lot of effort, but can brighten the day or week of others around you. And they don’t always have to be carried out by individuals, there is something special about when a company says “Thank You” for being a customer.
Recently my cousin was the recipient of a special surprise from TELUS – a yummy assortment of chocolates as a Thank You for being a customer. A small act that goes a long way to show appreciation for the customers that support TELUS, and another great example of how TELUS gives back to its customers and community.
Now TELUS has also showed its appreciation for other customers in different ways, just look at the grand gesture they put together for customer Romona:
But it does not stop there, TELUS is performing acts of caring all over the Guelph community throughout the week by visiting their top 100 customers to thank them personally with a care package as a token of appreciation. And they are also hosting a BBQ for 1000 TELUS customers and their families. For every use of the hashtag #actsofcaring TELUS will also be donating $5 to the Guelph Children’s foundation! Phew, it sounds like the TELUS team has a busy week ahead of giving back to their customers and community.
It really is both the big and small gestures that make a difference and show people that you care about them.
