Planning a birthday party can be tricky when you have a large age range of kids attending. For Baby Roo’s f1rst birthday we had kids ranging from 6 months old to 8 years old attending her party. What sort of activities would keep all of the kids entertained and having fun during the party? What is one activity that crosses the ages and keeps kids busy? LEGO!!! Now that is a theme I could run with to plan a party for our friends and family while also getting ready to head back to work after maternity leave.
I have to say after hosting almost 10 birthday parties since becoming mom this was the easiest one yet. I was heading back to work and knew I didn’t have a lot of time to plan and organize Baby Roo’s 1st birthday. Luckily Cathy the owner of kids n bricks™ saved the day. kids n bricks™ offers in-home birthday party entertainment for kids of all ages. After talking to her I immediately knew that having a LEGO party would be a fun and engaging and that I would be able to create a cute party around that theme.
Take a look at all the fun activities the kids took part in as part in at the party! The kids n bricks™ team came to our house and set up everything in our basement, I didn’t have to do a thing except provide some space for the “master builders” to create. They brought everything needed for a party full of LEGO fun. And the best part is that the kids n bricks™ team host leads the kids through the activities taking the pressure of me to make sure they were having fun.
First the party started off with a welcome, kids receiving their personalized LEGO name tags and free build time. The older kids were provided with all the bricks, special elements and characters they could dream about. The kids were able to build until their hearts content. It was amazing what the kids came up with, and after about 20 minutes we did a “show and tell” so each child had the chance to show off their creations. Take a look:
Next the old kids moved onto building challenges. They were each given a box that included bricks and a challenge inside then given 3 mins to complete the challenge. You could feel the excitement in the room as they worked to complete their tasks.
Our hour of LEGO play winded down with each children receiving a small prize and a the LEGO magazine that they got to take home.
Now don’t think the younger kids were left out on the fun. In our case because we had kids over a large range kids n bricks™ also brought bins full o LEGO Duplo. The 1-4 year olds loved all of the special elements like the Batman and Joker, and all of the animals.
The most amazing thing… after the party was done I didn’t have to pick up one single LEGO brick! Baby Roo also received a cute LEGO Duplo gift for her birthday from kids n bricks™. All of the kids had a great time and I received compliments from the parents of the attendees saying the kids had so much fun.
