My life is crazy busy. My husband works nights so I am either working or solo parenting, and working some more (ah the life of blogger and entrepreneur). It can be very hard to find time for myself, usually there it just too much to do. Despite how busy life is, it is important to find time for yourself. I am experienced in making the most of the limited “me-time” I have and I want to share my secrets with you.
I will let you in on the secret – preparation. By effectively multi-tasking and being productive you can fast-track all those little tasks that need to be done to create spare time.
How To Make Time For ‘Me-Time’
Keep the house clean. I am not a super clean person. In fact, I may have a few dirty glasses in my office right now. But, I am always able to relax better when I have a clean house. I know my house will never be spotless but seeing open spaces, cleared tables and being able to walk in a room without tripping over toys makes me happy. The extra 10-15 minutes a day it takes me to put things away (instead of just leaving by the door) saves me so much time later.
Teach your kids to be independent. My daughter is 3 years old. There are a lot of things she cannot do but many things she can. She knows there are snacks in the kitchen she can have at any time (yogurt in the fridge and fruit on the counter). She can grab these things herself and access the drawer to grab a spoon. She is also able to go to the potty alone. By setting her up with the tools she needs (step stool) I am able to use those few minutes to get things done so after she goes to sleep I can relax.
You do not always have to be a 10. I work from home so I spend most days inside and do not see anyone unless I am picking my daughter up from daycare. I have a very minimal beauty routine. By foregoing makeup/hair on a daily basis I am able to save a lot of time. If you work out of the home or see other people on a regular basis you can still make your beauty routine more efficient. By using quality products that last longer you can decrease the time you take ‘primping’. For example instead of using a cheap disposable razor that is not very effective use a more effective one such as Schick Intuition’s Revitalizing Moisture Razor. By getting a better shave you can go longer between each one. It may not seem like a lot of time but if you can spend 3 minutes shaving every other day instead of daily you will save almost 9 hours a year. It seems crazy, but it’s true. Not only will you spend less time shaving, with the Schick Intuition’s Revitalizing Moisture Razor you don’t have to worry about shaving cream or moisturizer after you are done shaving. The razor head has moisturizing bar around the blades lathers as you shave leaving your skin feeling soft, and the uplifting tropical citrus scent is uplifting.
Last but not least.
Once you are able to effectively multi-task and start being more productive you will find the time to take a (much needed) break. Do not waste those moments. Spend your ‘me-time’ doing something you enjoy. Remember Schick. It’s quality over quantity.
Schick Intuition’s Revitalizing Moisture Razor can only be found at Shopper’s Drug Mart.
