Toddlers and Preschools love LEGO DUPLO, and Monkey and his friends are no exception. There is nothing better then getting a group of kids together, putting down a bin of LEGO DUPLO and letting them play away the afternoon. So why not take that LEGO DUPLO fun one step further and have a fabulous LEGO party!
Well that is just what we did this month with the help of our LEGO DUPLO friends. To celebrate the launch of the new toddler line of products we have been “Playing Legos”, as Monkey calls, it with all of his friends. The new toddler LEGO DUPLO line includes:
These new sets feature slightly bigger bricks, bright fun colours & patterns, and new fun shapes to create your own creatures. Aimed for ages 1.5-3 years Monkey and his friends had a blast playing away building towers (and knocking them down), and playing “zoo” with their animal creations. All the classic LEGO DUPLO sets are still available including brick box set, alphabet, numbers and my personal favorite the read & build book sets.
And of course a party is not complete without some yummy snacks. I had Monkey help me sort some smarties by colour to create some LEGO inspired brownies. A great way to work on his colours and sorting skills while keeping him involved in the party preparations.
Now the snacks and brownies were nice, but what is a LEGO party without a LEGO Cake! These Lego cake pops were a huge hit with the kids (and adults too!). Stay tuned for a post later this week on how to create these for your very own LEGO Party.
We had such a fun time sharing our LEGO DUPLO love with friends! I know there will be many more fun play dates and LEGO parties in the years to come!
