Who is going to be cooking your Easter dinner this year? Easter is one of the holiday my Mom hosts at her house. That means that I am not in charge of cooking the Turkey or Ham, but everyone still contributes to the meal. With over 20 people to feed you need everyone to pitch in! This year I am bringing “Our Finest” to add to the Easter feast. I packed up the boys and headed to Walmart to pick up everything we needed for Easter dinner at my Mom’s this year.
I am in charge of bringing snacks and appetizers for everyone to enjoy before dinner. Since my Mom lives an hour away whatever I bring needs to transport easily, and I don’t want a lot of fuss prepping food once I am there. I found a great selection of Our Finest appetizers in the frozen section that will be just perfect for everyone to have a bite sized nibble before dinner. I picked up the Our Finest Mini Vegetable Samosas, Spanakopita and Brie Cheese & Apple Phyollo Cups. The Our Finest brand had a great selection of appetizers that would suit any occasion or tastes. Other options included Mini Vegetable Spring Rolls, Crispy Shrimp Appetizer Collection, Cheddar Smokey Bites and more.
I also grabbed a box of the Our Finest Premium Crackers and jar of Raspberry Cherry jam. I am going to make a baked Brie which is so tasty. Simply place the Brie in a microwavable safe dish, and heat for 20-30 seconds in the microwave until softened in the center. Top with Raspberry Cherry Jam and serve with crackers – trust me there won’t be anything left of this snack!
To round out our offerings we also picked up the Your Fresh Market Artichoke & Cheese Dip, always a favourite and easily to served with crackers or pita bread. I am looking to digging in to all the tasty offerings that we will be serving up at our Easter gathering this year. Because you know, nothing makes or breaks an event like the food!
After we finished our grocery shopping we headed over to the seasonal section at Walmart to shop for the last of the supplies we needed for our annual Easter Egg Hunt. Walmart had everything we needed to make sure that this year is going to be the best year yet for our Easter Egg Hunt! I picked up 2 more Easter Baskets, because as our hunting party grows we never seem to have enough, along with plastic eggs to fill with tasty treats. There was a HUGE selection of Easter chocolates and candies – a chocolate lovers paradise! With a great assortment of wrapped chocolates including Great Value Caramel Filled Eggs and Fudge Filled Eggs I am not sure who is looking forward to hunting for Easter Eggs more, me or the boys!
This Easter is going to be one to remember – Little Bear is walking and will be able to “officially” take part in his first Easter Egg Hunt, and it will be our last Easter as a family of 4! It is sure to be a day filled with laughs and family fun as Aunts and Uncles, cousins (and their significant others) all descend on my Mom’s house for some quality family time.
