When you are a kid there is nothing better then getting together for a fun play date with your cousins! Oh the fun and adventures you create with everything from playing dress up to Ninja Turtles or even putting on a “show” for your parents by performing your favorite songs. Then you start getting older, life gets busier, and you don’t see each other as much. School, work, and dating take priority over family gatherings. Then suddenly you are an adult and realize you only see your extended family a couple of times a year, if that! And when you do get to see them you are so busy chasing after the kids conversations are broken into 30 second increments… sound familiar? Well we set out to change that this month by having a family game night party that wasn’t for any special occasion, and did not focus on the kids!
After having a yummy dinner we broke out the board games for a night of laughs. This night was about the adults, and our game of choice was Apples to Apples. If you have not played Apples to Apples before head out to the store and grab it. I promise it is the most fun and hilarity that you will have with your group of friends. This game is all about about your sense of humor and ability to read the reactions of others. So make sure you have your “game face” ready!
Not sure what board games you might enjoy? Well the Mattel Gameology App on Facebook is here to help! The Gameology App determines your game sign: Activius, Socialies, Wittian, or Strategicorn, and then suggests games that fit with your personality best. So stop by to take the quick quiz to find out your sign, then gather a group to have a fun games night.
Taking time out to spend with family, relax and just have fun was so refreshing. It is easy to get caught up in everyday life and forget to stop and reconnect with your family. I know we will be breaking out Apples to Apples again soon, for another night of great fun.
Do you love board games? What are you favorites to play with your family?
