I was switching over the boys clothes last weekend – packing up the stuff that is too small and pulling out the t-shirts and shorts in preparation for when it is actually warm enough to wear them! Little Bear is set for clothes thanks to hand me downs from his big brother. However Monkey’s summer wardrobe was awfully sparse. I decided I would take him clothing shopping with me so he could be involved in picking out some of his new clothes. We headed off to Children’s Place for a Mom and Son morning of shopping! With over 56 locations in Ontario and many others located across Canada there is sure to be a Children’s Place near you, however there is a brand new location that just opened up at The Stockyards in Toronto and we decided to check it out.
After explaining to Monkey what sort of things we were looking for he excited started to explore the store. First stop was the PJ’s – Monkey still loves wearing “Foot Jammies” and I was happy to find a great selection of lightweight one piece PJs. Perfect for the little boy who is always kicking off his blankets. Now my biggest trouble is that I only bought 2 pairs, and he wants to wear them EVERY night!
Of course we picked up some t-shirts and shorts for summer. And lots and lots of socks. Somehow it seems like all of the boys socks have gone missing and trying to find a pair of matching socks is almost impossible. I also scored some great sales on pants which will be much needed this Fall when Monkey starts school.
Monkey’s other favourite buys were his new baseball hat and sunglasses. He reminded me that he is getting bigger now and his sun glasses were too small. Children’s place had a great selection of styles that were also durable. Monkey picked out 2 red pairs, as “red is my favourtie colour your know”. I am happy to say that he is set for summer clothes thanks to this shopping trip out, now if only we can get some warmer weather so he can start wearing a bunch of the clothes. Do you need to do summer clothes shopping for your kids this season?
