The arrival of Target in Canada has been the talk of the country over the last few months, with stores popping up from coast to coast. There was lots of chatter and excitement at my local moms group as the signs went up and opening day edged closer. I know a few brave moms who trekked out to the Fergus location the first day it opened.
Now you might be thinking, what is the big deal opening of Target Canada? For me it is all about choice – having more options and and a better selection. Plus it does not hurt that there is a Target Canada store 2 minutes from my house, making it very convenient to get to. I was thrilled to be able to attend the Grand Opening media event for Target Canada with Jenn from 1 Heart 1 Family (and Little Bear in tow of course) and we had a great night browsing the store and doing some shopping! We even had a chance to meet Bullseye, the Target Canada mascot. Jenn and I spent the evening shopping, laughing and having a great time. We were both really impressed by the products that Target Canada had in store…
I actually let out a little “Whoop” when I saw how big their maternity section was. If only it had been around last year when I actually needed maternity clothes! But all was not lost, they one nursing top and it came home with me that night (would LOVE to see more!). Oh and the baby gear… they actually sell wrap baby carriers!!! Something I have not seen in any retail store around here.
When I was looking at the Target Canada website I found that they offer coupons you can print from home! Browse the selection of coupons, print the ones you want, go shopping at Target – seems easy enough to me! Oh and did I mention that Target Canada offers a price match guarantee as well. Partner all that with the REDcard that lets you save 5% off your purchase… swoon. I can see some more Target Canada shopping in my future!
