And three more, two more, one more… common squeeze it! Beginners you are out of here, intermediates lets take it up a notch! Do those words ring a bell with anyone? Who else remembers the classic 80’s exercise videos from the one and only Tony Little? Complete with all of the big hair, spandex and leg warmers you could ever dream of, the exercise videos provided a great workout for all fitness levels. Targeting those “problem areas” and working up a sweat to burning those calories. But what about your feline friend Max or Chloe??? How do you make sure your cat gets in its daily 30 minutes of vigorous exercise to help keep their lean physique? Our cat Athena used to run and play a lot but as the years have gone by and with the arrival of Monkey and Little Bear she has spent less and less time playing and most of her time like this:
Well you are in luck – Work It Kitty is here to make sure your feline friend does not develop love handles. With moves like the “Ab Cruncher” “Paw Rotation” and “Rear Leg Lift” your cat will be burning those calories in no time. Check it out:
If you don’t think the Work It Kitty would be a hit with your feline friend then you can also try these tips to get you cats up and active:
- Play with a treat ball – make your cat work for their reward, by running and playing with the ball as it randomly dispenses treats. A great way to get them moving.
- Hunt and Seek – Cats are born hunters and will try to catch moving objects. Encourage your cat to run and pounce by playing with toys that you can move and control just as a feather wand, or one of my cats favorites the laser pointer
- Hunt and Seek – hide some cat treats around your home at varying heights so that you cat can jump around to find them. Jumping is a great way to maintain muscle tone. But remember to change up where you leave to treats to keep them guessing
So whether it is Tony Little videos, Work It Kitty or just playing games with your cat make sure that everyone in your house hold is getting their daily dose of exercise!
