Today is the last official day of Summer, a sad day I know. But lets not despair, instead lets have some fun thinking about all of the places we can visit next summer and start planning our summer vacations for next year. It will give us something to look forward to when we are all bundled up in our winter coats, hats and mitts. There are so many places to vacation, it would be hard to choose just one! The perks to vacationing are endless, and relaxation does a lot for morale and peace of mind.
Whistler, BC – Sure, the city is known for its majestic slopes, but without the snow you’re looking at a beautiful backdrop for outdoor adventures with an unforgettable view. I have not been to BC yet, but would love to get out there soon to explore with the family.
Toronto, ON – As Canada’s largest city there is always something to do. From enjoying a trip to the Toronto Zoo, or feasting at Medieval Times there are tons of family friendly activities. For some grown up fun, nothing will get your adrenaline pumping like doing the CN Tower Edge Walk and leaning off the edge of a 553 meter high skyscraper!
Cavendish Beach, PEI – Red sandstone cliffs with crystal blue water surrounds you at the Cavendish Beach. While you’re there, explore historic sites, like the Green Gables Heritage Place. This is one of the best places to vacation if you enjoy rich history.
Banff, AB – If you’re craving a breathtaking view – this place is for you! No need to go halfway across the world to become mesmerized by natural beauty. Kayak between the Rocky Mountains or simply take it all in. Take the time to CLIMB up Sulphur Mountain, it is a good trek but it was fun and worth taking on the challenge. Once you get to the top you are rewarded with amazing views, and can ride the Gondola back down.
Quebec City, QC – Here you’ll find hints of European charm mixed with authentic French Canadian character. Grab a poutine and walk around the old city, home to iconic Chateau Frontenac. If your legs start to give in, hop on a horse-drawn carriage and enjoy a tour along the cobblestone streets.
Grand Canyon, U.S.A. – One of the seven wonders of the world! It’s worth getting on a helicopter to soak in a truly life-changing experience. You’ll see beautiful landscapes in a warm, relaxing climate. If you love hiking, you’ll love it here!
Sesimbra, Portugal – This beautiful little fishing port is filled with colourful and authentic charm, known for its beaches, local cafes and fish restaurants. If delving into culture is what you’re looking for in places to vacation, this place is it.
Kefalonia, Greece – Take a boat ride and you’ll be surrounded by picturesque villages, olive groves, beaches and tremendous mountains. This is one of the more romantic places to vacation, a great spot for honeymoons and rekindling the love! Hubs and I visited Greece in 2002 and would love to go back to explore more of the area. After exploring the island of Corfu and Athens and enjoying the amazing food I have been dreaming about going back to Greece for another vacation.
Hong Kong, China – A bustling and exciting harbour city, you’d be surprised how easy it is for tourists to explore. There are lots of kid-friendly activities, such as Hong Kong Disneyland and Ocean Park.
Siem Reap, Cambodia – A trip for the adventurous: the city showcases original ancient temples, including the Angkor Archaeological Park, cited as one of the most valuable archaeological sites in South-East Asia – so you know it’s worth getting over the jet lag for!
Vacationing can get a little tricky if you get sensitive to motion sickness from air travel, land travel, or water travel, especially if the places to vacation you choose include all types of travel. Keeping something on hand just in case you suffer from motion sickness is always a great idea, even if you’ve never experienced motion sickness before as it can happen any time. Stay covered with Gravol™! Gravol™ Quick Dissolve Chewables for Adults and for Kids are ideal since they can be taken without water. If you prefer more natural products, Gravol™ Ginger tablets, lozenges or liquid gels made with certified organic ginger are also a great choice. Besides helping with motion sickness, Gravol™ Ginger products also help treat indigestion and upset stomach. They are easily packed and are non-drowsy too – so keeping up with your children won’t be a problem! Gravol™ is only found in Canada, so make sure you stock up before leaving the country!
All of these places to vacation are magnificent, but it truly comes down to what kind of vacation experience you’re wanting. Are you planning a your next summer vacation already? Where are you planning to travel to or did you travel this Summer? Let me know in the comments!
