You know when you discover something and you think “how did I not know about this before???” That is how I feel about loose tea. I had friends and co-workers that drank loose tea, but I did not pay much attention. Oblivious to the greatness I was missing, I went about drinking my regular tea bags, not knowing what I was missing out on. That is until I met Monika from Steeped Tea who sells premium loose teas & accessories.
The first thing I noticed when trying loose tea was the aroma. The sweet sent of brewing tea filled my kitchen, when taking a drink I would pause to just enjoy the smell. I wish you could do an adequate job of explaining how superior the flavour of loose tea is compared to tea bags, but I know I will not do it justice. The Ginger Peach tea’s sweet fruit taste will warm you up on the coldest spring day (we got snow here today!). I really find that mint helps me clear my head and the After Eight peppermint tea is perfect for just that. So far my all time favorite is the Toffee Caramel Pu-erh, this sweet rich tea tastes as good as it smells.
Steeped Tea offers a huge variety of teas including black, Green, Herbal and Rooibos that come in amazing flavours. They also offer a great line of accessories to make steeping easy. I love the Daisy infuser, not only is it cute, but after you are done steeping just place the infuser back in the “flower pot” to contain any drips.
After trying loose teas, I know I won’t be going back to traditional tea bags ever again. The flavour you get from loose tea is so… fresh. Steeped tea would make a perfect mothers day gift or if you are looking for something unique as a wedding favour a gift of tea for you guests is a great idea.Friends tell friends about loose tea. If you are a tea drinker TRY IT, you won’t regret it. Make sure check out the April monthly special going on now. If you want to talk tea or place an order make sure you check out Monika’s website and connect with her on facebook and twitter (stop by to say Hi, she is new to the twitterverse).
Now I am off to make my second cup of tea for the day, while I wish away the snow that is on my front lawn.
